A strip board is an essential process when planning out your production. The BOARD is used to schedule your shoot days and rearrange scenes to represent the order one wants to film in. You can move scenes on the fly, add day breaks and edit scenes to accomodate changes in the shooting script, as soon as they pop up.

The overview page of the board

You should know that this module is made up of three different interfaces. In the first one, you can have full access to the published boards that are shared by other crew members. Here, you can also create a new board.

In the second interface, you can select the scenes to be scheduled and manage your Board.  Finally, the last interface is to structure and build the shooting schedule plan.

The BOARD is directly linked to the CALENDAR. In other words, it's a stimulus tool that updates automatically one module as soon as we publish to one.

Viewing a board

By clicking on the BOARD tab in the Calendar module, you can access the first interface. The overview page should look something like this:

  1. In order to display and view the older boards, you will need to click on "DISPLAY OLD BOARDS" at the top of the page.
  2. The page is divided into two sections. In the section "My Boards" you can view your own strip boards.
  3. In the section "other public versions", you can view your collaborator's boards if they shared it and made it public.
  4. You can also create a new board by clicking on the addition symbol.

Once you have displayed the different boards, you can find all the following information:

  1. Each strip displays the general information of a board: Start and end date of the board, Name and Team scheduled.
  2. The status of a board: A board is private unless you change it's visibility status and make it public so everyone can see it.
  3. A board can be made up of multiple versions. By clicking on the arrow icon , the different versions will be displayed. You can instantly roll back to previous versions any time.
  4. A toolbar menu is at your disposal. If you click on the icon, you will access directly the breakdown interface. Here, you can proceed to tag the different scenes of your board.
  5. To export a board to Excel table, simply press the X button. In the new pop-up window, you will have the choice to export your Excel table vertically or horizontally. You can also choose to export the board of one or all of the teams. Validate your choice by clicking on OK
  6. If you need to create a copy of a board, hit the icon of copy.
  7. Finally, you can delete a board with the red trash button.
